Inter boy casts his memorable spell

HYDERABAD: An Intermediate student from the city is all set to break all existing memory records and walk into the Guinness World Records.
At a function organised by the department of culture and Manthra (Memory and Personality Development Institute at Ravindra Bharati) on Sunday, the blindfolded teenager Gaajula Srikrishna Teja displayed his memory power by randomly recalling the positions of 333 objects in order or in the reverse order – whichever way the audience demanded.
Teja, a student of Narayana College at Secunderabad, is a magician and is popularly known as Junior Shaado after his father-cum-trainer Magician Shaado.
It was Teja’s first public performance vis-a-vis memory on Sunday. “I am a magician. I have several magic shows, but this is my first public performance on memory,” Teja said.
The recordings of Teja’s performance will be sent to the Guinness World Records. Currently, the Guinness record in memory is held by Squadron Leader Jaya Simha from Hyderabad with a recall of 200 objects.
With his unusual memory power, Teja feels he has an edge over other students of his age. “I don’t need to study for the exams. Even without studying, I can easily score 90% My friends do not feel envious about my unnatural memorising ability. Instead, they are proud of me,” he said.
Aspiring to become an engineer, Teja wants to strike a balance between his studies and magic.
